"I actually really dug this flick. The moments where Sara briefly regains control before it quickly falls away again are heartbreaking. Overall, I thought The Fiance was a fun, character driven take on the Bigfoot genre. It managed to feel fresh and new in a subject that has been done to death. If you like being able to invest a little bit more than face value in your horror films, then I highly recommend this Sasquatch flick with a twist."

"If you can accept not getting all your answers spoon-fed and can take in more than one genre formula at once (and part of the film's charm is that it plays genre formulas against one another to make something original), then you'll be rewarded. Plus, the film truly delivers in gore and gross-out scenes, but that said, doesn't go overboard, spectacle-wise and is carried by some very fine performances. HE FIANCE delivers one of the most intriguing and original horror films this year and from THE FIANCE delivers one of the most intriguing and original horror films this year."

Mind Rage: The Director's Cut

Mind Rage: The Director’s Cut, movie review

This rather Hitchcockian thriller features the fabulous Tippi Hedren in the role as an analyst—and boy, do the characters in this fevered flick ever need some psychiatric care!

First there’s schoolteacher Michael (DallasValdez), who’s got so many issues stemming from a traumatic Freudian childhood experience he’s got back-issues. Next up we have his police detective brother Jack (Charles Hallahan) who has a blood connection to Michael in more ways than one. And then there’s the mysterious blonde who’s recently showed up in both their lives… pretty Jessica (Andrea Leithe) may be the picture of poise, but there’s something stewing beneath her sultry surface.

Ambience and atmosphere bolster the teasingly twisted neo-noir tale, which takes place in L.A.’s darkest corners. The plot centers around a series of serial murders in which everyone is a suspect. Michael’s past pain makes him a prime person of interest in Jack’s investigation, while other detectives (played by Max Gail and Curt Lambert) also work to close in on the unknown blade-wielding killer. Along the way romance blooms, flashbacks tantalize, and long-buried secrets come to light.

The acting and direction are top-notch, plus the sleek, shadowy cinematography and moody music bring to mind classic noir. These trappings serve as a backdrop, though; Mind Ragenever slips into retro-homage mode. It’s a fast-paced, keep-you-guessing thriller that’s suited for all kinds of movie fans.

VampyrZ on a Boat

Featuring Carrie Keagan Wraps Production

HOLLYWOOD, CA—Firebreathing Films has just wrapped principal photography on VampyrZ on a Boat, a razor-sharp horror feature starring pop-culture personality Carrie Keagan and award-winning actor Dallas Valdez.

They play Sara and Max, a couple whose new whirlwind romance is interrupted by a vampire outbreak on a medical research ship. Max will stop at nothing to get back the girl of his dreams, even if it means several heads will roll.

Directed by Mark Allen Michaels, VampyrZ on a Boat was filmed on the iconic SS Lane Victory ship. The San Pedro, CA., based vessel is a National Historic Landmark and can be seen in films such as Titanic, Flags of our Fathers, Pearl Harbor, U-571, G.I.
